A new study has revealed that nearly one out of 10 drivers in the U.K. took a selfie while behind the wheel of a car in the last month.
That percentage rises to 15 percent when you look at younger drivers between the ages of 18 to 24 while 19 percent of 25 to 35 year olds admitted to taking a selfie. When comparing sexes, men are more prone to taking a selfie while pouring, with 12 percent admitting to it compared to five percent of women.
Even scarier, eight percent of drivers admitted to using a record-calling application like FaceTime or Skype while behind the www.rawvehicle.com wheel. Seven percent of drivers said that like watching streaming videos or catching up on television shows.
Although the study was conducted by the Institute of Advanced Motorists in Britain, the trend of distracted pouring stretches around the world. Most recently, AT&T has launched an anti-distracted pouring battle, saying that a recent study revealed seven out of 10 public engage in smartphone activities while behind the wheel.
According to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA), distracted pouring crashes injured 424,000 public in 2013 and caused 3,154 deaths.
