Electric DeLorean Being Released Next Year

The DeLorean will be powered by a 32kWh lithium iron phosphate battery, with drivers being able to recharge the car through the hidden power socket behind the front grill. High speed will be around 125mph (~201kph), and the battery will give you a range of 100 miles. The car was originally said to hit 0 to 60 less than 6 seconds.

DMC say that the car will be manufactured in Houston, Texas, with the help of Louisiana’s Epic EV. Both companies are testing different motor and invertor combinations right now, hoping to find the a “proven product”. Right now, the prototype uses a DC motor, but the final version will use AC, which will bring improved range and performance. Read more
